'Ek Rishtaa' is the story of a traditional Indian family with Amitabh Bachchan playing Vijay Kapoor, the patriarch.
With a son in Ajay (Akshay Kumar) and a daughter in Preeti (Juhi Chawla,) the children have Raakhee making a comeback in the role of their mother, Pratima. As any normal family, the members turn their backs on one another in happy times but turn to each other for support during a crisis.
One such crisis grips the family when Priti or Juhi makes a wrong decision and the family pays for it.
