Nisha (Smita Patil) lives with her maternal uncle and her cousin Indu (Tina Munim). Kabir (Rakesh Roshan), a publisher, meets Indu and Nisha at a wedding. Indu thinks he is interested in her but Kabir marries Nisha and has a daughter by her. Filled with spite and hatred, Indu decides to have her revenge...she comes to stay with her cousin and slowly traps Kabir into marrying her. Nisha leaves the house, leaving her daughter in Kabir's care.
Kabir's fortunes take a turn for the worse. The only way he can regain his standing in the business world is by publishing a novel by the famous novelist, Asha Shri. He goes to meet her and finds himself face-to-face with the woman he threw out of his house..
